Two Barns Went to a New Home Yesterday

I think every artist gets attached to at least one piece out of each completed series.  For me, it was this painting that left home before getting to "tour" with me.  I actually did not work on location for this painting but rather worked from a photo of a place not far from my parents house in Georgia.  It was a sunny day and happy colors--I hope the new owners will be happy when they look at it as well.  So long "Two Barns" !!

This is a 24 x 24" painting of some land out in Gluckstadt, MS.  I used a brush to begin and a limited pallette then finished it with a pallette knife.  It was a cloudy - WINDY day -- I almost got dragged away--I had to close up shop pretty quick! I've been enjoying the smaller canvasses in the sense that I can start and finish sometimes in one session - "al prima" !
